About Amy Bishop Design

Amy Bishop Design is a residential architecture and interior design studio specializing in designing homes rooted in thoughtful planning, refined detailing, and long-term livability. Based in Duxbury, Massachusetts, the studio works on custom new construction and major renovations throughout New England and beyond.

Our work is defined by a respect for craftsmanship, architectural integrity, and design history—balanced with the practical demands of modern living. We believe the most successful interiors feel considered rather than styled, and refined rather than trendy. Each project is approached with a focus on how a home is built, lived in, and experienced over time.

Founded by Amy Bishop Blumenthal, the studio is informed by nearly two decades of professional experience across residential, architectural, and creative disciplines. Amy’s background includes formal training at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute, where she studied Interior Design and the History of Decorative Arts and Design. Early in her career, she worked with leading interior designers in New York City and later in television and film set design, contributing to Emmy Award–winning productions including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

This breadth of experience informs a measured, confident approach to residential design—one that values collaboration, clear communication, and thoughtful execution. Clients often engage the studio early in the design process, allowing interior decisions to be integrated seamlessly with architectural planning and construction.

Today, Amy Bishop Design works with homeowners, architects, and builders on projects throughout New England, including current residences from Cohasset to Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard. Each project begins with a careful understanding of the client’s goals, lifestyle, and expectations, ensuring that every home is both visually cohesive and deeply livable.

**Interior Designer ASID**
**With over 4 decades of experience** in interior design and a degree from **NYSID**, worked as a **contract and hospitality designer**, leading a team on **large-scale projects**, and as a **residential designer** specializing in **antique and period-style architecture** before joining Amy.

Sarah Murray

**Operations & Project Manager**
With an **Associate's degree in Interior Design**, specializing in furniture design from **FIDM** in **Los Angeles**, brings a deep passion for **diverse design styles and periods**. Focused on the importance of **material choices**, **finishes**, and **color palettes**. Now part of the **family firm** and designing with a **seasoned team** of professionals.
